2025 WR! Summit


REFLECTION ESSAY (ALL PARTICIPANTS)

Drawing from your earlier reflections on individual sessions, write a 500-word essay that tells the story of your experience at the Water Rocks! Summit. Consider how the Summit may have inspired you to teach differently, or take action in your community or school. Be specific and personal—highlight the “aha!” moments, meaningful conversations, or ideas you’re most excited to bring back to your students.

 

Guiding Questions:

  • What were your biggest takeaways from the Summit?

  • How might you teach about water, wetlands, pollinators, bats, climate science, or ecosystems moving forward?

  • In what ways did the Summit help you see creativity as essential to science and environmental education?

Quality Standard:

Reflection written in complete sentences with attention heeded to spelling, grammar, and punctuation (bulleted list not acceptable for this essay)

  • Word Doc or PDF (No Google Doc link—please convert before submitting)

  • FILE Naming: YourLastName_Reflection

Within 1 business day, you will receive an email from Ann Staudt acknowledging/confirming that your submission was received.

Additional Requirements for 1 License Renewal Credit:

 

LESSON PLANS
The participant will complete and turn in lesson plans that utilize three or more Water Rocks! modules/activities, along with an assessment strategy for each. If participating in the Summit with multiple people from your school/organization, the lesson plans may be completed and submitted as a team.
