Show Synopsis
Water Rocks!: The Musical tells the story of four quirky students, dreading a looming science exam, who are given a miraculous chance to become water and explore the world. In a whirlwind tour of the water cycle, they discover water’s origin story, its transformations, and how closely it’s connected to humans—and become prepared to face challenges that affect humans and nature alike.
Professionally staged for its world premiere performances in Ames, IA in June 2022, this brand new show explores humankind’s connection to water in a fast-paced 45-minute science-fueled musical odyssey, with musical styles ranging from rap to RnB and pop to punk rock—an action-packed adventure for middle school performers!
The complete production package for Water Rocks!: The Musical is now available to schools and community organizations at no cost with a signed licensing agreement with Iowa State University.
